Action Alert 1 - Your help is critical to save babies and protect mothers!

Time is ticking away......
Monday, May 5th, begins the final two weeks of the 2008 Legislative Session. There are only 10 days left for the Missouri Senate to pass legislation that will protect women from coerced abortions and offer her more information about her unborn child's development. HB 1831, or its Senate version SB 1058, is still waiting on action by the Missouri Senate. Your call could make the difference in whether or not the Senate passes either of these bills.

HB 1831, sponsored by Rep. Bob Onder, and SB 1058, sponsored by Sen. Rob Mayer, require that abortion clinics offer an expectant mother an ultrasound so that she can see her baby's heartbeat, and require that she be informed about her child's development. These bills also address the outrage of coerced abortions - coercions like losing an athletic scholarship or a job if a woman becomes pregnant and doesn't abort.

Please call your senator immediately and urge him or her to take the necessary measures to pass HB 1831 or SB 1058. Women deserve to be fully informed and protected from coercion.

Please contact your state senator and representative and tell him/her to oppose funding the destruction of human lives and to zero out funding for the Life Sciences Research Board and the Missouri Technology Corporation in HCS HB 2007.

Please contact your state Senator and Representative and tell them to oppose funding, in cash or by means of tax credits, the destruction of human lives.  Also tell your legislator that you want the Department of Economic Development to be the department of oversight for any tax credits disbursed and to make sure any tax credits given are not used for subsidizing life-destroying research in pharmaceuticals or any form of research.

Thanks to all who attended the Missouri Right to Life Pro-Life Action Day!

Hundreds of Missouri Right to Life members came to the Capitol in Jefferson City on Tuesday, March 11 for the Pro-Life Action Day. They lobbied their legislators and leadership in both houses to pass the package of pro-life legislation that MRL supports. Several workshops to explain the legislation or to train volunteers for the Cures Without Cloning Campaign were presented during the event.
