MO Attorney General Won't Repeal Birth Control Ruling
Democratic Attorney General Chris Koster said Thursday that he won't appeal a federal ruling striking down a Missouri law that exempted moral objectors from a birth control insurance mandate, calling the Republican-backed effort "just plain foolishness...read more.

Legislative Update
On Tuesday, April 9th , the Missouri House Rules Committee heard HCR 35 which requests the Attorney General to appeal the ruling by Judge Audrey Fleissig on SB 749 which was passed in the 2012 legislative session.  SB 749 seeks to give protection for our religious institutions and people of faith not to be forced to participate in any insurance plan that requires the inclusion of abortion causing drugs or devices.

On Thursday, April 11th, the Missouri House took up and passed HCR 35 by a strong bi-partisan vote of 111 to 38. On this same day, Attorney General Koster announced that he will not appeal Judge Fleissig's ruling.

Fetus Found in Independence Sewage Pumping System
Independence, Mo., police are trying to find out how a fetus ended up at a sewage pumping facility Saturday morning.  Detectives said an employee going about his rounds discovered the baby between 8:30 and 9 a.m. at the pumping station on Dickinson Road near Highway 24. Investigators said the fetus was found next to a drainage outlet where pipes come out of the ground...read more.

Why Dr. Kermitt Gosnell's Trial Should Be a Front-Page Story
The grand jury report in the case of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 72, is among the most horrifying I've read. "This case is about a doctor who killed babies and endangered women. What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable babies in the third trimester of pregnancy - and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors," it states. "The medical practice by which he carried out this business was a filthy fraud in which he overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels - and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths."...read more.

Obama Admin Will Force HHS Mandate Compliance on Aug. 1
The head of the Department of Health and Human Services has an odd way of looking at the controversial Obamacare mandate that compels religious employers to pay for birth control and drugs that may cause abortions. "We think [the proposal] upholds the religious beliefs of some, but does not impose religious views on an employee who may or may not share those religious beliefs," Sebelius said yesterday. "Having said that, we're being sued."...read more.

New Poll Shows Pro-Life Majority on Abortion
As you would expect from National Right to Life, NRLC studies polling data on abortion with exquisite care. But because the nation's largest and most effective pro-life organization knows that most people don't have time to peruse the data in depth, abortion polling numbers can seem like a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma...read more.

Five Reasons Behind the Abortion Industry Push for Chemical Abortions
When RU-486, the abortion pill, was approved for sale in America in September of 2000, this two-drug chemical abortion technique didn't simply appear out of the blue. It was the result of the years of planning, research, and market analysis by the abortion industry, the culmination of a long term strategy put in place decades earlier. Today, that strategy is playing out in clinics all across America and around the world...read more.
