Legislative Update
SB 175 and HB 400 are both on the Senate Calendar and waiting for Senate action. Thank you to Senator Bob Dixon for moving HB 400 quickly through the Senate Judiciary Committee! 
SB 175 & HB 400 - Establishes the requirements for the administration and regulation of RU-486 and other abortion-inducing drugs and chemicals and would ban web-cam abortions in MO. 
SB 175 is sponsored by Senator Wayne Wallingford.  HB 400 is sponsored by Representative Jeanie Riddle and 114 other House members (a veto proof bi-partisan majority).

House Passes Measure to Protect Life
Shelley Keeney, State Representative (dist. 145), wrote the following letter on the passage of HB 400:  The House has passed House Bill 400.  This legislation will ban web-cam abortions in the State of Missouri and ensure that women will meet with a doctor, in person, and in the same room, while receiving an RU-486 abortion.  This legislation protects women from an industry that is seeking to make a profit by providing sub-standard care to women....read more

Oklahoma Enacts Bar to Discriminatory Involuntary Denial of Treatment 
Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin on April 26 signed into law the Oklahoma Nondiscrimination in Treatment Act after it passed the state Senate 41-2 and the House 85-11.

When it takes effect November 1, if a patient or the patient's legal representative chooses life-preserving medical treatment food or fluids, the law will prevent health care providers from denying that treatment "on the basis of a view that treats extending the life of an elderly, disabled, or terminally ill individual as of lower value than extending the life of an individual who is younger, nondisabled, or not terminally ill."...read more.
