Give Thanks on this Memorial Day
First we give thanks to almighty God for the blessings He has bestowed on this great nation. His hand has surely been upon us during all these many generations of trial, challenge and victory.
Secondly, we give thanks for our military, past and present who have sacrificed their lives of comfort, their lives of economic abundance, their lives of peace, their very lives. Nothing, think about that, nothing we have in this country would be possible without them.
And, pray for the soldiers now in harm's way. Pray for those who have returned home to all the many challenges they must face. Pray for the families who have watched their loved ones go off to defend freedom and have lost them in those conflicts.
And, perhaps most importantly, pray for those in national and military leadership that they may remember the words of our founding father, George Washington:
"It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible." -President George Washington |

Let's Focus on Development -- Save the Date: 6/15
Missouri Right to Life, with the tireless efforts of many committed pro-life legislators (see last week's Lifeline) was able to bring about the passage of many life-saving pieces of legislation in the past legislative session. We are truly grateful to God for these victories on behalf of life. However, we cannot be complacent. We must do more to activate the pro-lifers across this state.
The statewide meeting for MRL leaders, members and anyone interested in the life issues in Missouri has a new theme. It is, "Let's Focus On Development To Save Lives!" The meeting will take place in Jefferson City on Saturday, June 15. Guest speaker for the day's event will be Don Parker, Director of Development at National Right to Life. Save the date and plan on joining us for this important meeting. Please contact the state office at 573-635-5110 or righttolife@missourilife.org if you plan to attend. |
