Victory for Babies and Protection for Women!

Missouri Right to Life applauds Governor Jay Nixon for not vetoing HB 400!

During the 2013 Legislative Session, the Missouri Senate and House took up and passed a ban on web-cam abortions.
As he did on the 2010 & 2011 pro-life legislation, the Governor has allowed this important legislation to become law.  Per the Missouri Constitution, Governor Nixon's decision to neither veto nor sign HB 400 is a decision to allow this bill to go into effect on August 28, 2013...read more.

On Tues., July 09, 2013 - Governor Nixon Signed Bill Expanding the Safe Place for Newborn Act
The following statement can be attributed to Pam Fichter, President of Missouri Right to Life:

Missouri Right to Life is grateful to the Governor for signing SB 256 sponsored by Senator Ryan Silvey, District 17. This legislation includes language that extends the safe place for newborn drop-off from 5 days to 45 days and expands the list of places for drop-off to include maternity homes and pregnancy resource centers.  This legislation provides a safe haven for infants if needed after birth with no questions asked.  The priority of this program is to provide protection and care for the newborn infant.

"Hail Satan!": the New "Pro-Choice" Mantra
In the war between life and death, all eyes are on Texas as the Lone Star State legislature is poised to pass a sweeping late-term abortion ban. Gov. Rick Perry has pledged to sign the bill into law. The lines have been clearly drawn surrounding this progress toward equality and civil rights for pre-born Americans. Not surprisingly, as the pro-abortion side loses legislative battle after legislative battle, its "true colors" are coming into focus. Those colors are darker than many might have imagined...read more.

Pro-Lifers Get Good News in Illinois
Yesterday the Illinois Supreme Court upheld a state parental-notification law. This law was signed back in 1995, but has been enjoined since that time due to a hydra-headed array of legal challenges. This particular parental-involvement law is not as strong as some others because it allows a minor seeking an abortion to notify a grandmother, a stepparent, or a legal guardian...read more.

Pain May Be Worse for Unborn Babies Aborted at 20 Weeks
Defenders of late abortions try to argue that the unborn child at twenty weeks is not capable of feeling pain, claiming the connections in the fetal brain are not fully formed. Those who know something about fetal pain physiology, however, have solid medical evidence to believe that the child not only feels pain, but feels it more severely than an infant or an adult...read more.

No "Right to Die" By Denied Spoon Feeding
A Canadian woman directed that she be refused medical treatment, and indeed, that she be euthanized if she had Alzheimer's and could not recognize her children. She has the disease and is spoon fed. But the family wants that stopped..read more.

As the U.S. Bishops' development agency was taking heat last summer for handing out over $5 million to the abortion-supporting group CARE, they were in the midst of giving a total of $13.8 million in grants to the same pro-abortion group during 2012, according to its recently-published IRS filings...read more.
