MO Legislator Challenges State Insurance Coverage for Contraception, Sterilization
State Rep Paul Wieland could be starting a legislative trend in Missouri with his suit that challenges the Missouri government's new group insurance coverage that covers sterilization and contraceptives, including some birth-control drugs or devices that he says induce abortion.

In the suit, Wieland and his lawyers contend that such coverage is not "health care, or a means of providing for the well being of persons. Rather,Plaintiffs believe contraceptives, sterilization, and abortifacients involve gravely immoral practices and that abortion in particular involves the intentional destruction of innocent human life."...read more.

Abortion-Breast Cancer Link Explodes in Asia; Cover-Up Continues in West
Some epidemic diseases are caused by bacteria, the smallest of living things. Some are caused by viruses: rogue bits of DNA or RNA; non-living, but nonetheless infectious bits of destructive information. We are all familiar now, of course, with computer viruses that act in the same way...read more.

IA Board of Medicine Considering New Rules Governing Web Cam Abortions

Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Human Trial
The first induced pluripotent stem cell human trial-that is, ethical stem cells made from skin or other tissues-is about to begin. Like the two (or is it three?) existing embryonic stem cell trials, it has to do with eye disease...read more.

New Website Tracks Girl Scouts' Ties to Abortion-Rights Agenda
Concerns about the Girl Scouts' ties to the abortion-rights agenda have prompted the launch of a new website, MyGirlScoutCouncil.com, that documents specific concerns on a  council-by-council basis. Although the Girl Scout organization maintains that it takes "no position" on the issues of abortion and human sexuality, parents, churches, and pro-life activists have long complained of the pro-abortion slant of the Girl Scouts' resources, role models, and affiliations. The new parent-driven website  is the creation of Ann Saladin, who was a featured presenter on this topic at the June 2013 National Right to Life Convention.  Saladin pulled her own daughter, a 4th generation Girl Scout, out of her parish troop after discovering financial and ideological links between the Girl Scouts and organizations and individuals who advocate for reproductive rights.
