Happy Mother's Day
We thank you Lord for making us your adopted sons and daughters and for calling us to care for each other as brothers and sisters. Today, we thank all mothers.

We pray for all mothers who have opened their hearts to the gift of life, both born and adopted;all who never knew their biological mother, but thank her for the gift of life; all who have experienced the wonder of an adopted mother's love; all who are suffering from a past abortion; all who are grieving the loss of a child; all who are grieving the loss of their mother.

Lord, please help all to once again hold sacred human life. Help us to understand your love for us and this wonderful gift of life! Amen.

Legislative Report
SCS HB 1132 was Truly Agreed to and Finally Passed out of the House and sent to the Governor.  SCS HB 1132 is sponsored by Representative Kevin Engler and Representative Jeanie Riddle.  Senator Gary Romine is the senate sponsor of the bill.  This omnibus benevolent tax credit bill includes increasing the amount of tax credits for contributions to pregnancy resource centers and maternity homes available in each fiscal year from $2 million to $2.5 million dollars.  SCS HB 1132 garnered strong bi-partisan support because of the multiple benevolent issues on the bill.
The House and Senate has sent all budget bills to the Governor.  Included in the budget bills are $2,158,561 for the Alternative to Abortion Program (A2A). This amount includes funding for the Awareness part of the A2A Program that advertises that it exists.  Also, in the budget bills is pro-life protective language on one line item to prevent $4.5 million dollars from being used for human cloning and embryonic stem cell research.
