Missouri Lifeline 1/9/15
A Message from new MRL President, Steve Rupp

As the new president of Missouri Right to Life, I want to thank you for receiving our weekly Lifeline and your involvement in the battle for the right to life. I have been honored to serve the pro-life citizens of our state as vice-president of MRL for the last seven years.

If you have been reading this email update for a while, you know that MRL is the oldest and largest pro-life organization in Missouri. We are the only Missouri affiliate of the National Right to Life organization.

Through our regions and chapters we offer education to Missouri communities across the state and activate those same regions and chapters for citizen lobbying to pass important pro-life legislation.

Since the Roe v. Wade decision we have been involved in the passage of over 40 pieces of pro-life legislation.

I have been involved in the fight for the right to life for decades, but when I was called to become even more active, I chose the most significant and effective organization in the state of Missouri. I hope you will do the same!

Legislative Update

The First Regular Session of the 98th Missouri General Assembly kicked off in full swing at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.

At this time there have been 459 bills and 42 various resolutions filed in the House and 213 bills and 13 various resolutions filed in the Senate.

Your Missouri Right to Life Legislative Team is reviewing all bills and will be reporting weekly in the lifelines during the legislative session. We will update you on bills that have either a positive or negative impact on our ability to protect innocent human lives at every stage of life and development.

Please read these updates. Your knowledge on these important life issues is important for when you speak with your legislators. Your involvement with your legislator is important! When we put out a legislative alert for phone calls, e-mails and letters to legislators you need to be ready. Your involvement is important to the passage of good solid pro-life legislation.
