Legislative Update
There are 5 Weeks of the 2019 Legislative Session Remaining.

We will contact you when Action Alerts are critical to the Passage of Pro-Life Legislation in these last Weeks of the 2019 Legislative Session.

If you have not already done so, Please be sure and sign up for The Pro-Life Communications Network to receive important action alerts

Highlights of the Week:

On Wednesday the Senate Health and Pensions Committee voted Do Pass SCS HB 126, the pro-life omnibus House Bill which includes a new model of the heartbeat bill, the pain capable unborn child protection act, and a “trigger bill” to ban abortion in Missouri when Roe vs. Wade is overturned.

SCS HB 126 also includes a ban on abortion when based solely on race, gender or Down syndrome, two custodial parent notification prior to a minor having an abortion, language requiring that informed consent information be given to women when they are referred to an out-of-state abortion clinic and an increase in liability insurance for those performing an abortion.

This is a great pro-life bill and we look forward to the Senate moving this bill forward for passage and be sent to Governor Parson for his signature.

The Senate Health and Pensions Committee also voted Do Pass “Simon’s Law” (SB 406 and HB 138) to prevent physicians from putting a do not resuscitate order in a minor child’s medical file without the parents knowing about it. They also Voted Do Pass SB 420 which requires that informed consent information be given to women when they are referred to an out-of-state abortion clinic – note: the language of SB 420 is also part of SCS HB 126.
